ABOUT ME
I’ve been an art fan for as long as I can remember and believe in the power of a picture to transform your day. There was a print of Raphael’s Sistine Madonna on my bedroom wall: that picture got me hook, line and sinker.
I got my BA in Art History and Languages at Cambridge University and studied for a Masters at the Courtauld Institute of Art. Early on in my career I worked in the auction world and then in commercial galleries. I’ve been an expert art guide in the UK, Europe and the USA and an arts writer.
Currently I’m halfway through a PhD that’s only slowed slightly by the best efforts of my two young sons. I am also teaching A Level students about Giotto, Ralph Goings and everything in between. Teaching is where I’m happiest, getting people to look at and possibly love art.
